Explorers Program for Teenagers in Our Precinct
Explorers is a leadership program in the NYPD. It is an after-school program for youths aged 14-20 years old. Activities include but not limited to:

Crime Prevention
Skits to learn about : Stop, Question and Frisk; Domestic Violence; Arrest, Search and Seizure; Felony Car Stop -
Community Service:
- Outreach in the community on crime prevention
- Graffiti clean-up program
- Can log community service hours needed for high school
- Competitions
- 2 times a year on skills and scenarios learned
Goals to reach
Explorer Academy
- 2 weeks at Fordham including classes with different law enforcement agencies
- 1 week in Monticello including training with different Explorer posts.
- Seminars and Workshops available.

In addition to regular Explorer activities, 1st Precinct Explorers do community service helping the elderly in their facilities
Work on graffiti clean-up program
Help with the local Blood Drive: give out material, help with promotion

Transit District 2 Explorers meets 3 days a week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Transit Bureau District 2 at Canal Street Station (A/C/ E lines). Explorers can attend 1-3 sessions per week.
